I%26#39;m going to LV at the end of May. I%26#39;ve only played craps once or twice and just stuck to pass line bets on a $5 table. I%26#39;m a ';low-roller'; and play to have fun, but also try not to throw money away.
I%26#39;ve been learning more about craps and want to play more than just the pass line (some come and place bets on 6/8 too). I%26#39;ll likely play $5 tables and think I have the betting down:
$5 pass bet with (with 1x odds mostly) - for odds on 5%26amp;9, odds bet is even, so $6.
place bets on 6/8 - $6 (pays $7)
MY QUESTION - in order to get full payouts (not rounded down)
If I were to play on a $3 minimum table, I would likely make $3 pass bets (with 1x - 2x odds) - so odds bets on the 6 and 8 would be $5 (pay $6 - correct?); odds bets on 5 and 9 would be $4 or $6 (I think paying $6 or $9 respectively). odds on 4 and 10 can be any amount.
For place bets on the 6/8, do I still do a $6 bet (to pay $7) or will a $3 bet pay $3.50. I guess the question is do the $3 tables pay a $0.50 denomination.
Also, are my betting denominations correct above? I know a lot of people may suggest taking higher pass line odds rather than placing come or place bets, but I enjoy playing multiple numbers sometimes rather than just waiting for a point.
Thanks for your help.
$3 craps betting for low-rollers - help!
Yes, you%26#39;ve got the math right on all the various payouts and bet amounts.
No mainstream casino is going to pay you 50 cents. So a $3 place bet only pays $3.
If you start to drift out of the mainstream, you might find a craps table with less than $1 payouts. The last I saw was the Joker%26#39;s Wild several years back.
I highly agree about the fun of playing more numbers rather than putting all your money into odds bets. Yes $5 + $10 odds has a lower house advantage. But the vig on a $5 bet is about 7 cents. For 7 cents, have the fun of having multiple numbers working.
$3 craps betting for low-rollers - help!
I believe the El Cortez still has pink 50 cent chips that they%26#39;ll pay on $3 place bets for the 6 %26amp; 8. The Golden Gate used to have tan colored 25 cent chips they used to use.
On a $3 table, you can bet either $5 or $10 odds on double odds table with 6/8 point. $10 is better.
