Me and Husband are going to Vegas, April 30-May4th and we really want to go to the Grand Canyon, but have read so much about not being worth it on a short trip? If there is anyone that has ever taken this trip to the Grand Canyon on short time can you let me know of any tips or ideas?
I also found a good deal at looktours.com, they offer a 15 hour bus tour and its on special for half price off, has anyone taken a tour with them? it seems a little to good to be true since its only $80.00.
Advice Please =)

Well, that price is a little south of normal for a bus tour, but it fits. I went on my 1st visit to South Rim from Vegas 2 years ago with a bus/heli tour booked thru www.grandcanyontourcompany.com. 15 hrs, buffet lunch, $250 and the best 25 min. heli ride possible. I only spent ground time at 1 viewpoint, but very worth it. Im returninh in 2.5 weeks on a van tour with Grand Adventures. Small groups, 3 hrs@ SR, breakfast, lunch. $125

The drive to the South Rim (the National Park area) takes about 5 hours each way from Vegas. It%26#39;s the 10 hour round trip drive that makes people recommend it as an overnight; you get more time there, plus you don%26#39;t have to do all that driving in one day.
Also, two days visiting GC means two less days in Vegas, which is a real drawback for some folks!
Never taken a tour there, so sorry I can%26#39;t help there.
So, tips would be:
--Seriously consider a two day visit
--Make sure if you go with a tour group (driving or flying) that you%26#39;re going to the National Park area at the South Rim.
thank for your feedback! we decided to skip this on this trip, we will try the Red Rock Canyon instead b-cuz we have a short trip!
Any advice on Red Rock Canyon?
=)
Good choice, rojas12.
I would go to Valley of Fire and/or Red Rock Canyon.
