First and probably last visit

I am in no way a prude, BUT I have have never been to a more disgusting city than Las Vegas. I never dreamed in a million years that my first trip to Las Vegas would be at the bottom of my vacations.

I am currently staying at Paris. The traffic here is horrendous. The people are all over the place. No body moves when you walk, it is like you are invisible. I see so many kids here. How anyone can bring a child here with all the drinking, smoking and porn pushers is beyond me. Porn leaflets all over the ground outside the casinos. I love to gamble, but it will never be in Las Vegas again.

I told me wife I would rather go back to New York, which I also didn%26#39;t like due to crowds and traffic, before coming back to Las Vegas.

I did visit one casino, Red Rocks, today that I liked. It was out near the mountains ... very clean, no porn slappers. It even had a bowling alley and movie theater.

I just wanted to add that I am not a bible banger and that I am 41 years old ... so by no means on old ';fuddy duddy';.

First and probably last visit

I concur on the kids - it amazes me people think LV is a place to bring children, many do, and spend a lot of time justifying the reasons why.

RR is nice - also try some other off-strip and locals places.

Sorry it%26#39;s not to your liking - I would suggest trying some of the more upscale casinos, see if you don%26#39;t like them better.

I am sorry you are not enjoying your trip. I think Vegas has an ';energy'; that many people are attracted to, including me.

I don%26#39;t think Vegas is for everyone, but you can at least say you have been there.

While I don%26#39;t necessarily feel the same way you do, I do feel the same way about children. I would never bring my kids there. It is truly an adult playground.

With hotels that have 3000+ rooms in each did you really think it would not be that busy, come on, there is only one street that links all the front of the hotels!!! The strip has one road that connects all the front of the hotels of course theres going to be loads of traffic,go to london new york and any other city its the same!!!

I think the best thing you should have done is thought more about your trip before you went rather then moaning about it now!!!! if you had researched you would have known what to expect!

next time book a desert island if Vegas is too busy and crowded for you. all the posters on here love it, i cant wait for my upcoming visit.

First off, you chose to go to a major tourist destination on a Holiday Weekend. I promise you that there will be a big difference Tuesday.

Second; possibly you didn%26#39;t choose the best hotel for your tastes. For instance maybe Red Rock would have been a better choice. Or South Point, GVR, Wynn, Signature.

Don%26#39;t give up on LV yet. Look around and try to find places and things you enjoy about LV. Then NEXT TIME you can plan the type of trip that you will enjoy.

Starting with visiting Sun-Thursday of a non-holiday week, possibly with better weather. You would be surprised how different it can be.

BTW: We are not fans of LV on weekends either.

Vegas to me is basically a place where you do what ever it is you want. What I mean by this is I ignore the porn slappers....I don%26#39;t drive on the strip, I have learned to use back roads when going places. The kid thing is my toughest one to ignore, as much as I like to turn a blind eye I want to shake these people and be like seriously? You consider yourself a good parent? Your kid just inhaled a pack of smokes as you walked through the MGM....

I hear ya, but have fun, it%26#39;s your vacation and Vegas is a fun city. Go to places less likely to see these kind of acts. The Wynn doesn%26#39;t usually have a lot of younger folks around and they seem to control smoke well. Green Valley Ranch is owned by Red Rock Casino so you would probably like that. You are also seeing more kids because they are on February vacation this week, at least they are here in CT.

Paris can get very congested. The one time I went there last week we had a hard timke making it through the halls. It%26#39;s much better at the Wynn/Palazzo end, where I stayed and will continue to stay from now on. Mid Strip can be a zoo.

I live in a very quiet place, and I love Las Vegas (and New York!) because they are so different from my home - loud, crowded, neon, noise, sights, sounds, smells - some people like things quiet, fishing on a quiet lake, away from the crowds. No vacation is right or wrong. It%26#39;s just too bad either you didn%26#39;t find out what it was like before you went, or didn%26#39;t believe it when people told you. There isn%26#39;t a commercial, a video, a description of Las Vegas that doesn%26#39;t portray it as it is. I%26#39;m just surprised that you are surprised by that.

That%26#39;s great. Different strokes for different folks. My first time. Yes, I thought it would be busy, but this is ridiculous. I understand it is the holiday weekend, which IS my fault for coming here at this time, but it was the only time that fit into my schedule. I have talked to many people here about it and they said it gets a lot busier. Just not my cup of tea. I will continue gambling in my little Southern Indiana riverboats where you can actually easily find 3-2 blackjacks instead of 6-5.

I don%26#39;t think Vegas traffic is any different from any other major city- be it NYC, LA, Rome, Paris, London even Istanbul!

I don%26#39;t understand how you could have possibly picked Vegas (or even NYC) for a vacation without knowing what it was like. Did you not read about it in advance? Crowds- yup! Traffic- yup! Drinking-yup! Smoking?-yup! Porn slappers-yup! Timeshare people?-yup!

Fun-yup! Excitement-yup! Great scenery (VOF, RRC,Mt. Charleston nearby- yup! Great shows- yup! Great restaurants-yup! Great lounges-yup! Great spas-yup!

Vegas definitely is not for everyone and I know some people who would hate it.

I am sorry you aren%26#39;t enjoying your stay. There are places I have been to that ended up not to be my favorite vacation spots. But I always found lots to enjoy even on those vacations. You%26#39;re going to a city you have never been to before, eating different foods, seeing different sights, meeting different people etc. Other than Red Rock Station- what else did you see and do in Vegas? Did you not like anything besides that one casino?

I expected crowds, but this is nuts. I am not going to apologize for coming here. It is a ';check the box'; for me. If I hadn%26#39;t have come, I would always wonder what is is like. Now I know, thus I will not return. No big deal. More room for everyone else that likes this type of atmosphere.
