Mon Ami Gabi or Del Frisco's

I%26#39;d like to take my husband out for a steak while we are in Vegas, but it is worth it to go to Del Frisco%26#39;s? I%26#39;m not looking for the best steak I%26#39;ve ever tasted - just a nice meal with a reasonable price. I realize the Del Frisco%26#39;s is probably superior in terms of taste and flavor, but is it worth the extra price (and the venture off the strip....we won%26#39;t have a car)? Thanks for any input.

Mon Ami Gabi or Del Frisco's

I love MonAmiGabi but admit is mostly because of the Bellagio fountain view. Never even had a steak there but after about 3 visits have had superior food at what I consider a reasonable cost and the ambiance can%26#39;t be beat. Not been to Del Frisco%26#39;s, assume other posters will fill you and and give you a real comparison.

Mon Ami Gabi or Del Frisco's

Mon Ami Gabi is good for location and ambience (if you sit on the patio) but only middle of the road food. The price is reasonable with the quality (I usually get the filet with merlot butter).

Can%26#39;t speak to Del Friscos but if you want an amazing, to die for Steak with a similar view to Mon Ami (and a higher price tag) go to Prime. I still salivate just thinking of our dinner there.

My husband and I recently had a very nice dinner at Brand Steakhouse located in Monte Carlo. Food was very good, not exceptional, but really good. I%26#39;d definately go there again. Their menu is online on the Monte Carlo website, if you wanted to look at it. I actually had almost this exact question back in January, except I was comparing Mon Ami Gabi and Brand. Depending on where you are staying, there are more sveral steak house style restaurants to choose from on the strip which would be much more convenient, I think.

Hello

Although it has been over a year, my friend is still raving about her ';burger'; at Mon Ami. Definately a great recommendation!

Enjoy yourself.

My Husband had the Filet at mon ami and it really was good, I had the mussels and they were soooo good ~ I got the starter size portion and it was huge ~ I could never have eaten the main size portion

We will definately go back when we next visit

If the quality of the steak is your primary concern, then Del Frisco%26#39;s or many of the other steakhouses would be better than Mon Ami Gabi. I found MAG to be pretty good, but not as high end as you might imagine. A really good steak meal can be had at the Steakhouse at Circus Circus, believe it or not, at a price less than Del Frisco%26#39;s. There are plenty of other steak places that have been recommended on these boards on or near the strip. I do love Del Frisco%26#39;s, but that%26#39;s a pricey plate!

This is a NO BRAINER for steak. Del Frisco.

Totally agree with VHB - if you are going for a steak then Del Frisco%26#39;s wins hands down. Mon Ami is a French theme restaurant with average food and fantastic views.

Del Frisco%26#39;s is the real deal. Don%26#39;t worry about it being off the Strip, it is not far away. Just make sure you ask them to order you a cab 10min before you actually want to leave.

Thanks everyone for the responses. How much should I expect to pay at Del Frisco%26#39;s for an average steak? I can%26#39;t seem to find a menu with prices.

Funny, all the links to Del Frisco%26#39;s website aren%26#39;t working right now. According to Open Table, they rate Del Frisco at $$$$, and estimate the cost of a meal for one with a drink and tip to be $50 or above. When my husband and I celebrated his birthday there a few years ago, dinner for two with drinks and a bottle of wine came to about $200. (This was in Denver mind you, may be more in LV)
