Cab or MGM Shuttle from airport?

We%26#39;re booked into the MGM from March 16-19. I understand you can arrange a shuttle through the check-in desk at the airport, for $30 p.p. return. There are two of us. Is this a decent option or should we take a cab? We took a shuttle to Disneyland last year and it was a nightmare, the hotel we were staying in was the last to be dropped off and the trip took ages.

What would the cab fare be per trip? and I read something about not taking the tunnel? Can anyone offer advice?

The shuttles are a nightmare...I have vowed never to use them again. Taxifare is usually $20 or so, depending on the time of day, traffic, etc.

well due to its location mgm is the 2nd stop for most shuttles---first if no one on your bus is going to sig.

Taxi wil be the quicker and cheaper option. we always jump straight in the taxi. shuttles you have to wait for people and drop people off. some people on here said that they got a taxi and friends the shuttle and they checked in and were in their room, and their friends had only just arrived who took the shuttle.

$30 pp is a bit high for me, taxi is under £20 to MGM

Sorry, I%26#39;m wrong. Just checked the site again and it%26#39;s $15 per person for a return trip. I%26#39;m not concerned about the price more than I am the time it takes to get there. As I said earlier the trip from LAX to the hotel in Anaheim was horrendous, all the stopping and starting. Might have been just bad luck on our part, but I know I%26#39;ll just want to get to the hotel and meet up with our friends who are arriving earlier than us.

We%26#39;ll get in at 12:30 pm, so the traffic may be bad at that time. Any suggestions on the quickest way to get to the MGM by cab? Why no tunnel?

Definately take a cab. It%26#39;s about a $13 or so ride (before tip) and quite short, you can see the MGM from the taxi stand!

The tunnel is the long way around. Some drivers will take it to increase their fare. They%26#39;re supposed to ask if you want to go that way. Always say ';no tunnel, please';.

Definitely take a cab. Tell the driver to take Swenson to Paradise-that will prevent him/her from taking the tunnel. You don%26#39;t want to take the shuttle. The cab line may seem long but it moves fast. You do NOT want to take a shuttle back to the airport. There have been reports of shuttles not showing up at all or showing up late. You do not need that worry when you have to catch a plane.

Cab it you will get there quicker.

To the MGM from McCarran and more than one person- no question - taxi. The line moves fast and it%26#39;s within a couple bucks of waiting (and waiting) for a shuttle. (the cost to MGM will be slightly higher than return from because of airport tax.)

IMHO why chintz to save cents when you%26#39;ll blow $$$ in Vegas. A taxi to MGM is a sure bet. I can%26#39;t imagine being tunneled to MGM.

Have a great/Grand trip.

I took the shuttle the last time I was there (last year), I think it was only $12 for return! But it took no time at all as MGM is the 2nd stop on a shuttle. I just take the shuttle and will do the same when I go next month.

If it is not the money then for sure take a cab..no doubt about it. I stopped using the bus shuttles ten years ago for the very reasons you mentioned. Very frustrating and not a good way to start a trip.

Have fun! I will be staying at the MGM in July..can%26#39;t wait!
