A different tipping question

Just wondering if you are supposed to tip when getting a drink on an airline. From time to time I get free drink vouchers from Southwest Airlines and never have tipped but wonder if I should be. I never have seen anyone else tip on an airplane thats probably why I have not.

A different tipping question

On SW you will be turned down if you try to tip.

A different tipping question

I%26#39;ve tipped once in a while but in general, a flight attendant does not depend on tips. These people make their living off of their salary.

I say that the answer is no.

If you want but not necessary.

I never did but you can if you want to.

No, you don%26#39;t tip flight attendants for bringing you a drink or anything else. Most airlines have policies against FAs accepting gratuities.

The pre-flight briefing often begins with ';We are primarily here for your safety but if there%26#39;s anything we can do...'; so I assume you CAN tip if they help you down an emergency slide. :)

I WAS on a flight once to LAS and a bunch of drunks were hitting the beer really heavy and I saw the guy giving the FA a five spot, which was accepted. But that%26#39;s the only time I%26#39;ve ever seen it offered or accepted.

I have a friend who has worked for American Airlines for many years. She says that if you really want to reward an FA for good service, give a good report on her/him to her/his manager. That will go much further than a $1 or $2 tip.

That is so true. We wrote customer service once and bragged on our FA. We got a letter back from cooperate within a few days thanking us for the thank you, and letting us know she had been acknowledged.

i have been flying for years. back in the day when everyone dressed up such as dress and suits everyone tripped. last year in auguest when i flew, i tipped the steward 10.00 and said thank you. he was older and he knew what i was saying with that tip. you should tip. they are doing a service.

Just another one of the inconsistencies that people do when it comes to tipping. So you tip a skycap, but why not anybody else that works at the airport or on an airline?? In a hotel, you tip the maid, but why not the guy that comes to your room to fix your TV???

I would tip the TV guy.

Skycaps get tipped so that bags don%26#39;t wind up in Vegas when you%26#39;re going to Hong Kong. End of reason. ;)
