Arriving in Vegas next week, The exchange rate for USD is around 1.32USD to 1.00GBP here, just wondering if anybody knows whether the rates in Vegas are better and its worth changing my money when I arrive?
Changing moneyWhen my husband needed US $ he just had it changed at the casino cashiers%26#39; cage. Each time they went and looked up the current rate. I%26#39;d just change money as needed.
Changing moneyi just got 1.41 today in london! would shop around in leeds
Have you tried the Post Office? The ones in London usually do a deal of a better rate if you are changing £500 or more. Today I walke by and the regulare rate was 1.359 and this weeks special (they update it weekly) was around 1.37. Stay away from the banks and keep looking.
I am Canadian (eh? :-) )
When I went in December I exchanged at home - 1.21.
But when I got to the airport one of the exchange counters had a rate of 1.10.
I was stunned.
Anyone know if McCarren exchange depots have that much of a difference?
Schuey - stay away from the airport exchanges, they are the only place worse than banks! Sorry to go on but I%26#39;ve learned this the hard way and feel the need to help stop others making the same mistake.
thomas cook today was offering 1.40 if you change up £500. $1.35 is a very low rate. def shop around
we found that using credit card for big items ie;show tickets ,canyon etc,the exchange rate was far better,we only found this out when we got bill though.travelex always are competetive you can pick up money on day of flight but order on line before you go
Thanks everybody, think ill try Thomas Cook then that seems like the best deal so far
