First name at Mirage

It will be our first trip to vegas and the Mirage. After we get dropped off by taxi where do we go - we dont want to feel like we dont know what we are doing. Also is it worth trying the $20 tip for a better room?

You and everyone else. Don%26#39;t worry about it. Vegas is full of new things to see and do. Everyone can feel like they don%26#39;t know what they are doing. That%26#39;s part of the fun of it. But, when you get out of the cab, there will be a bellman there to take your bags and show you to registration. Just go with the flow and enjoy.

First name at Mirage

You go up to one of the many guys out there to assist you and say, ';Hey, were%26#39;re from England. Where do we go to check in?';

If you truly must know in advance, it depends upon which door you get dropped off at. If at the main door (in front of a volcano, a million people milling about, etc. can%26#39;t mistake it) you go in the door and turn to the right. Walk 100 yards or so until you get to the check-in area.

If you get dropped off at the North Valet (in front of a parking garage, only a few people milling around) go through the door and walk straigh ahead until you get to the desk.

For the for $20 tip, it works exactly as well as asking nicely. Seems pointless to me. But if you%26#39;ve got an extra $20 and want to try, go for it.

if you booked directly with the Mirage, keep checking their website for their latest room rates.

if you see a better room than what you originally booked for the same or cheaper rate, all you have to do is call the reservation desk and they will upgrade your room at the lower rate over the phone.

we stayed there earlier this month and originally booked a Deluxe room about a month in advance. the day we left on our trip I checked the rates and found that their Volcano View/Strip View rooms were actually cheaper than what we booked our Regular room for.

I called them as we were on our way and they upgraded us for free!

we had a room on the 53rd floor with a GREAT view of the strip and the volcano.

Vegas resorts get real creative with their numbering. There may only be 30 stories to the Mirage; doesn%26#39;t mean one of them isn%26#39;t the 53rd floor.

oops! I meant 23rd floor. I think... we were about 4 floors from the LOVE logo banding the top of the hotel. :)

WRONG again Zeke... deffinitly use a $20... works better than just smiling and asking.
