airfare deals!

just a fyi. we are coming out in june. i already booked our outgoing on southwest for $129 each. just checked today and they are $106. called southwest and got a $23 credit x 4. (there are 4 of us coming out). i have been patiently waiting for the airfare to drop and i am happy to get the credit! now, if we could just get our return airfare for that cheap! i have been checking airfare constantly over the past month and it had risen up to $272 outgoing! (ridiculous in my opinion) i have checked several other airline websites and the fares have went down. i just wanted to pass this note along so maybe others can benefit. hope it helps you all! :)

airfare deals!

Thank you anderson3, we check airfare daily and wish I knew the factors as to when airfare increases or decreases. If anybody has an inkling when is the best time to check airfare would be greatly appreciated.

airfare deals!

I%26#39;m not a very-frequent flyer, but I am on a budget! I have learned that prices are usually highest late in the week and over the weekend. Prices often drop on Tues-Wed, especially at night. They can fluctuate like crazy. For example, I shopped for my Vegas airfare and hotel for several weeks. The prices always went down on Tues-Wed. There was a nonstop flight on US Airways that I was particularly interested in, and a week and a half ago, I checked in on my usual sites on Tuesday night. Fares had indeed gone down some, but I wasn%26#39;t sure it was the best price yet. I was also checking air/hotel combo deals on that site and several others. Down, but not irresistible yet. On Wednesday night, my deal appeared, and I knew I was ready to buy. I had shopped enough to know I couldn%26#39;t do much better. Two nonstop RT airfares from Orlando, 7 nights hotel, and two free CDS tickets (any show) for a total net cost of $716 on US Airways Vacations. (BTW, I figured the CDS seats would be awful for such a deal, but we got very good seats to KA.) Don%26#39;t ya love it when you get a good deal? Since that night, airfare alone has been consistently over 400 each, not including hotel or show tickets. Woo hoo.

It certainly pays to keep checking and shopping around!

I%26#39;ve been looking for deals for months ... then one day everything fell into my lap:

1. received a coupon in the mail for 3 free nights at GN

2. found round trip airfare - 2 people for $180 (2 tickets, all taxes included)

3. found car rental with Avis - 3 days for $75 (estimated taxes included)

My ';package'; that I created piece-by-piece for 2 people is about $255 ... I think we%26#39;re getting a pretty good deal for a 4 day/3 night Vegas mini-break at a little over $125/per person!

Can%26#39;t wait to just get there! Oh well, planning the trip is a ton of fun!
