If you have a guaranteed lake view room you will have a clear view of the whole lake.

All that remains is wheter you in the South or North tower.

Either way your view will be awesome.

Is it preferable to be in the North or South Tower?

It makes little of no difference.

The North tower mesns your on the Right side of the hotel looking from the street.

The South tower is obviously on the Left side.

When i was in the North tower i was approx 1/2 way along the hall.

In the South tower i was in the last but one room along the hall.

101 steps to be exact.

(Yes i did count them...lol.)
