Golden Nugget or Flamingo?

We%26#39;ll be staying around May 26-29 for my wife%26#39;s birthday. Our two preteen boys will be with us. My wife wants to do either the Flamingo or the Golden Nugget downtown. Pools are important, as we want to get as much sun as possible. I see online that Flamingo has two queen-size beds option, whereas GN only has double size. A two-room small suite would be nice, but I don%26#39;t see an option like that for GN, and the Flamingo%26#39;s ';Neopolitan'; suites appear to be booked solid through the rest of the millennium. We have family in the area who will be getting a separate room in the same resort too, but I don%26#39;t see anything on either place%26#39;s site about adjoining rooms.

Any comments/advice about these two places will be appreciated!

Golden Nugget or Flamingo?

It should come down to do you want to stay on the strip or do you want to stay downtown?

Golden Nugget or Flamingo?

I was just going to say the same thing. Location. The Flamingo is in the middle of the Strip and the Golden Nugget is Downtown, miles apart. There are pros and cons to both. This should be your 1st consideration actually,

Happy Travels!

FYI- the GN does have the option of two queen size beds, well it did in September when we slept in them.

As much as I like downtown and the Nugget, there would be more for the boys to see and do on the strip. I would choose the Flamingo for that simple reason. Most hotels have adjoining rooms so just request in the reservation.

Your boys will love the pool at the GN, but beyond that, there really isn%26#39;t much fun to be had for kids downtown. The Flamingo pool is among the best in Vegas, and there are dozens of things -- roller coasters, arcades, food, etc -- to entertain your kids along the strip. I know nothing about adjoining rooms there, though.

Your family will be better off at Flamingo. As already noted there is little for the kids to do downtown.

The adjoining room issue is kind of moot. Even if either property has one, hotels won%26#39;t guarantee adjoining rooms, they%26#39;ll just note it as a preference and may or may not have two rooms available next to each other when you check in.

The teen boys will have more to do at the pool at the Flamingo. The pool area is at least four times as large as the GN. If not Flamingo, a nice Strip hotel with a nice pool area would be my choice if kids play into the picture. Not much downtown for kids except the pool.

Good luck and have fun!

We%26#39;ve stayed at the Flamingo and have gotten adjoining rooms. It%26#39;s not guaranteed that two will be available which is probably why they don%26#39;t advertise it. You could probably call the day before and request two together, but it will be busy since that%26#39;s right after Memorial Day and they might not be able to fulfill your request. The boys will like the strip much better than downtown, much more to do. Eat at Margaritaville, they%26#39;ll like it.

Note your request for connecting rooms WHEN you book, not after. I have twice been able to get connecting rooms at Flamingo, last April I had 2 sets of connecting rooms (in different parts of the resort) and they even gave us a regular room connected to a junior suite, so we had a nice seating area separating the sleeping quarters.

Again, nothing is guaranteed but I have always found them willing to work with me. Good luck.
