A great Vegas discovery -- for beer drinkers

Just back from a 5 day trip to Vegas. A longer TR is in the works ... but I want to pass along one great discovery I made:

Fat Tire Beer.

I found it at 3 different restaurants in 3 different casinos. It%26#39;s a Belgian style amber and one of the best beers I%26#39;ve ever had.

You can get Fat Tire here in New England as well.

As you can see by my avatar, I am a long time lover of this great micro!! Its made by the New Belgium Brewing Co in Ft. Collins Co. - If any of you are ever out this way, you should check out the brewery for tours and the free beer tastings.

It was on tap at the Wynn.

It was in bottles at the Paris restaurant called Burger Brasserie.

Also in bottles in an off strip restaurant called The Vintner (near Red Rock Casino).

Do you get it in the Boston area? I%26#39;ve not found it in Vermont but I%26#39;ll certainly be on the look out!

i%26#39;ve had it once up in NYC, pretty common i belive in the Northeast, pretty good, thanks for the update on the tap at the Wynn, have to give it a good go again!

They have it at the convenience %26amp; gift stores as well, in a lot of the hotels. Good stuff! They sometimes have the large bottles.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite beers. get them here in socal all the time. I saw this thread and got excited, as i though you had found the holy grail of beer in vegas:

truman, you may not have fat tire, but you got magic hat and ben %26amp; jerry%26#39;s! close second.

fat tire is a belgiam amber. it%26#39;s great! it%26#39;s a frost amber (like karl straus). it%26#39;s a nicer choice than my old Newcastle, as the flavor is smoother, and not as heavy..
