This is a compilation trip report. I stayed at Encore in January, and have stayed at the Wynn numerous times. First the Wynn: Rooms on the Resort side and the Tower Suites side are the same, with a few more bathroom amenities in the Tower Suites. Check in is much easier in the Tower Suites, and your stay includes free newspapers and coffee in the morning. It is easier to get to the pool from the Tower Suites, but the main pool area is much nicer. The Tower Suites pool only has snob appeal. I have stayed at Bellagio and Venetian, but the Wynn is my favorite hotel. Management is quick to correct any problems, and I always feel welcome there, with champagne and fruit often sent to my room upon arrival. The rooms are much nicer than those at the Bellagio, and the executive and parlor suites are superb. The casino is well lit and not enormous. The restaurants are good, and the Terrace Point Cafe is a step above the usual casino coffee shop. The location is fine for me, but for a first time visitor to Las Vegas, a more central location my be desirable. The poker room is a bit cramped, but the dealers and staff are friendly, and trained in a way unique to Steve Wynn. Wynn is always my first choice. Next the Encore: I stayed there in January, and the hotel and rooms are beautiful. The mini suites are well thought out, with the TV that swivels. The casino is smaller than the Wynn%26#39;s, and there is an esplanade which connects the two hotels. The walk from Encore to Wynn is about 2 minutes. Although the Encore is more elegant, I still prefer the Wynn. I feel more at home there, and enjoy the Wynn casino more. I would not hesitate to stay at either hotel. I am a seasoned traveller, and I think those who criticize these hotels are overly picky, or are concentrating on one negative incident. For huge Las Vegas hotels, the Wynn and Encore have a feeling of intimacy not found elsewhere.
