Valet Parking

Going to have a rental car, so will be driving ourselves everywhere. Question I have, is valet free at all the casinos on the strip? What should I tip? Like $2? Thanks!

Valet Parking

We usually tip a dollar.....unless you want something special, like leave the car up front because we%26#39;re just stopping in to pick up show tickets..then I give them 10 to keep it close.

Only once, were we ever ';TOLD'; what to tip...and that was back in the old days when Planet Hollywood was the Aladdin. There was a sign clearly posted that said, minimum valet tip, 5 dollars. Shocked me, and I never parked there again, lol!

Valet Parking

So then valet is free at all the strip hotels, correct?

valet is free at all the hotels strip or non. BUT if they have somethign going on like a Fri nite or a big show you might not get valet at all because it either fills up or they reserve it for thier hotel guests only. I only had that issue at Palms my last trip, luckily every other one that was guest only I was staying there at the time. I generally tipped $2 if just coming %26amp; going, when luggage day was there I tipped more cuz they will help you load vehicle. I tell you check in %26amp; out days get darn expensive for tips, Unload vehicle $5, Bellhop at room $5, Leaving the same thing %26amp; another $2 for valet hehehee.

On the issue of valet parking being full when there%26#39;s a big show on the property, it%26#39;s amazing how fast a parking space becomes available when you toke $5 to $10 up front. That%26#39;s happened to us a couple of times over the years.

In the normal course of events I toke $2 when I get the car back. The $1 toke goes back 15 years ago.

Wow. I can%26#39;t believe the Aladdin used to tell you what to tip. Classless.

The PH doesn%26#39;t have that sign any more. However, they do have just about the slowest valet operation in all of Vegas. I think the valets there are working hard, I just don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s enough of them.

On my PH stay in January, I valet parked when I first arrived. Both the dropoff and the valet pickup the next morning took such a long time that I self-parked the rest of my trip. And self-parking at PH is a pain, because you have to walk through half the Miracle Mile shops to get to PH.

Still, it was faster than waiting for the valet.
