imperial palace?

we are coming to vegas march 15-19. our package is at the imperial. we only need a room to sleep, because we are out most of the time. I figured this was cheap and the center of the strip which makes it easier to get around. I have read bad reviews though about the elevators getting stuck and bad rooms. any opinions. thanks

imperial palace?

I have stayed at the IP twice, their rooms are basic, but very clean. I stayed in a standard room and a Deluxe room, both on the 14th floor away from the Harrah%26#39;s concert. Both rooms were good. The location can%26#39;t be beat. If you are looking for a clean, basic room center strip.. the IP has you covered. Check out my reviews and pics of my rooms in my profile. I think the IP gets a bad wrap because people are expecting a lot... it doesn%26#39;t offer a lot, just clean rooms. I wouldn%26#39;t hesitate to stay there again. :)

The elevators do run a bit slow.. people are sooo freaking dramatic about it too... FYI there is an addition back of elevators right around the corner from the main ones most people use... there is a sign pointing right at it.. it%26#39;s just that there are a ton of people that are too dumb to figure it out.

I have stayed at IP I would not stay there again, everyone is out most of the time in Vegas but part of my holiday involves having a room I am happy to come back to and not somwhere I am not looking forward to coming back to and one I want to get out of as soon as I can in the morning and this was my experience at IP. You don’t need to pay much more to get a really nice hotel.

thanks so much, we have stayed at the flamingo and the excalibur, but like I said we are only in our room to sleep around 6 hours and back out we go. We are not the kind of people that have to have luxury all the time ha! any suggestions of things to do there? we would like to see some live bands and have a few drinks somewhere. I saw that jimmy buffets has live music, anywhere else you could suggest. we are taking my son and his wife with us and they need to have the real vegas bar experience I feel, where is the best place for a unforgettable experience. Since we will be there over St Patricks Day I am sure there will be some things going on. Any input on the whole vegas experience is appreciated. thanks.

Since you are staying at IP, which is fine by the way, the best place for live entertainment is Carnival Court between IP and Harrahs. They have a live band or DJ every night and they have fun Bartenders.

The Imperial Palace does not have live bands anymore but they have the ';Dealertainers'; that are look alike entertainers of Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, Garth Brooks, etc., and they will take a break from dealing and get up on stage a do a few songs every 15 minutes or so. IP also has Karaoke upstairs by the sportsbook if you are into that.

Harrahs has the Dueling Piano Bar right by their entrance next to Carnival Court and Toby Keith%26#39;s Bar also.

O%26#39;Sheas will have live bands from time to time and Cleopatra%26#39;s Barge in Ceasars has live bands or DJ%26#39;s.

Of course if you are willing to go further down the strip then I would check out Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY since you will be there for St. Patricks Day. They always live entertainment at night.

Hope this helps, I will be there in April and can%26#39;t wait.

If you like mai tais - there is a bar in the back of the IP casino that has a tiki feel to it that serves a great one (made with 3 rums and real juices - very strong but tasty) and it is a pretty good price if I remember correctly. I have never stayed at IP, but we do stop in for these drinks!

';we only need a room to sleep, because we are out most of the time';

If that is the case then the Imperial dump is perfect for that. Great price and location. Just stay away from the motel rooms at the back of the property I have never stayed in those but from what I understand its quite a hike.

agree with SEW, i stayed there once, never again..I also subsribe to the ';only sleeping there'; theory,BUT as another poster replied, you need to be able to come back to your room and feel it%26#39;s worth your $$$, and imho, the IP is not...The casino is smoky/dingy/tacky..The morning ladycrawlers(6-8am)are very agressive,you%26#39;ll know them by their lack of front teeth...

...like a broken record.

it is MY OPINION,morrise...
