Sportsbook Hours

I%26#39;m staying at the MGM for March Madness this year and I was wondering if anyone knew the hours the sportsbook is open. I arrive late (11 pm) on Wed. before the games start and I wanted to make some bets that night if possible.

Thanks for the insight.

Sportsbook Hours

I don%26#39;t know the hours for sure, but I think they will be closed by then. Most of the games for that day will probably be over by that time. I remember stopping by a couple of books last year the night before the tournament started to pick up some parlay sheets and check out the lines, but it was closed by the time we got there.

Sportsbook Hours

I%26#39;ve heard of people arriving at 6 am on Thursday for the tourney, any idea when the Sportsbook opens? or is the area always open, just the betting booths close?

Sportsbook is always open - it is just the betting windows that are closed.

The area is always open. The betting booths close after the last games and races are over. They usally open about 8am local time but the tournament games will start 9:20am local time so they will open earlier that day.

It depends on the casino, in the past I have seen some books that have had someone taking bets all night. Yes, they normally close after the last game of the night, but all bets are off when it comes to March Madness. Of course, if you are planning on watching at the MGM, you may need to get to the sportsbook by 11 PM just to get a seat for the first games :-)

Yeah I dont think I%26#39;ll watch the games at the MGM sportsbook. We have a big group and we%26#39;re gonna look for a ballroom setup. Cant freaking wait.

See other posts recently and you can find places that will have setups. Gold Coast, South Point, Orleans, Venetian all have something confirmed. I%26#39;m pretty sure the Hard Rock will do theirs again this year as well and I%26#39;m sure there will be others.

The betting windows will definitely be closed by 11pm but they are open early for MM. I can%26#39;t remember what time but last year I was up pretty early and there was already a line to bet.

The one thing you can do is stop by the MGM Sportsbook and pick up Parlay cards if your betting those because they could run out if you wait until the morning.

Thanks for the tips. I%26#39;ve been following the March Madness threads. Will these ballroom setups at places like Orleans and the Venetian fill up where you cant get a seat, have they in the past? I think that is probably our best option to be able to sit down, watch the games, drink some adult beverages and throw some bets down.

If you have a big group like you say, you might run into trouble getting enough seats together. If you had to break up inot a few smaller groups and didn%26#39;t mind, you should have no worries. I%26#39;ve never seen one of these places completely full. And you can always throw a couple of bucks at whoever is working the place and maybe they%26#39;ll be able to help you out even more. The other thing to remember is that Thursday AM isn%26#39;t the peak either, people will still be coming in for the games later Thursday and Friday. So if you find you are able to get seats Thursday, don%26#39;t necessarily count on the same crowd size for Friday.
